1.6 Luancher unable to launch...
I've just downloaded the new 1.6 launcher so I can play the new update. After repeatedly trying to launch the game, the console tells me every time,
'Game ended with bad state (exit code 1)'
And then it deletes users/-----/library/application-support/minecraft/versions/1.6.1/1.6.1-natives-1372680834588199000
The console also says that the Library was NOT loaded because it could not find an image within here:
users/-----/library/application-support/minecraft/versions/1.6.1/1.6.1-natives-1372680834588199000/liblwjgl.jnilib
This has not only happened with this version (1.6), but has also happened with every past snapshot and prerelease that ran on the new launcher. I have been trying to fix it for such a long time with no prevail. If somebody would suggest ANYTHING that would help, please do. I want to play 1.6 really bad!

guys.. try deleting your old launcher... somehow worked for me... I did it on accident but it did wotk

Huh, my MagicLauncher always just opens a terminal with options "Find" "Clear" "Copy" and "Close". I could use some help, Minecraft isn't just the same without Better Animations Collection Revived.
Obviously you screwed something up in Minecraft's files
Try re-downloading the 1.6.1 update
And make sure the servers are not overloaded when you're logging in, and of course that you have the correct username and password

you guys must have the broken version because for some reason minecraft will delete java sometimes so you must download the newest version of java at
java.com gob luck!
For everyone having the problem, try deleting your java, re-downloading it, deleting your Minecraft, and re-download it from minecraft.net.

If that is the case, explain to me why my frame rate drops from about 80 to 15 from the old launcher to the new one, newest java and everything, the new launcher sucks, and there is no using it correctly. Besides the profiles (which from my understanding ruin modding) there is almost nothing new.

For the profiles: they got the idea from the MultiMC launcher which does the excact same thing, offer multiple instances of minecraft in 1 program and allows you to launch them easily.Which is very usefull to modding so i can have ex: Vanilla, Server Play profile(with GUI mods, minimap etc), Mod testing mods with the beta versions of my mods and forge.
As for the framerate drops you should change the JVM arguments to give more RAM to the game
how to do that: Edit Profile: check JVM Arguments and put this in "-Xmx3G"
replace 3 with the amount of GB's of RAM you want to give to minecraft.(I have 3 cause thats the amount of RAM i can have available with a debug server and all my development apps running.)
And if youre still having trouble you can search on google how to set it up so it always has a minimum amount of RAM allocated to minecraft at all times( I think its Xmin)
ALSO: even if minecraf says youre getting 80 FPS your screen can only display about 60 FPS
I have done that, ive done 5 gigs to it, out of my 6, still only 15 fps, and I know that a computer only displays 60 fps, however I said 80 fps instead of 60 to show the major difference. As for the multiple versions and profiles, You can't mod them, they will just reinstall that minecraft version.
At 1.5.2 i get 20 FPS WITHOUT anything else running... at 1.6 while RUNNING MY DEBUG SERVER ON THE SAME COMPUTER get 80 FPS
Just get MagicLauncher. The 1.6 launcher is garbage in my opinion. I'm not sure who gave the go ahead on it.
Ok I had this error too. I am running on a Mac Snow Leopard - and the way to fix it is by downloading Java. I downloaded Environment Runtime SE 6. I think Java fixes the problem. Do you have it?

Indiana, I think u should go to task manager and end all the tasks that are related to java. Then reopen minecraft again. It should work.

Try opening AppData then Delete everything inside .minecraft (except for the saves and the texture packs folder).
Download the newest launcher and then run it.

if none of that worked try hitting log out then just log back i think its a glitch with the launcher because i have had this problem.
Mine just lets me play "offline" when I try to play it when I'm connect to the internet.
1.6.1 is a peice of crap with the new launcher that crashes on people

I just downloaded an update for my macbook and it is now 10.6.8 (snow leopard). The launcher is still not working... I am also currently downloading an update for my java. I think I'm getting version 1.6.0_51. Hopefully that works..

mine works like a charm. Hmm, maybe you must update your java? Just try to keep everything up to date. Also, check if your antivirus is blocking your 1.6 launcher from downloading the stuff you need for minecraft 1.6

I think I found out why it wont work. The file (liblwjgl.jnilib) wasn't loading, so I looked into lots of folders and opened it up. After opening up that file, I find that its looking for a folder in my library called 'FrameWorks', and I don't have 'FrameWorks' anywhere. Is that why it wont work? If so, how do I get 'FrameWorks'??
I have java version 1.6.0_17 to run minecraft. Is that supposed to work in the 1.6 launcher?? I have recently tried re-downloading the launcher lots of times and it still wont work. Is it possible I need Java version 1.7 and higher to run??

Well they dropped all java 5 users I updated mine about a month ago so I would not get any errors in the process try updating to java 7 that may help alot

Then when u open it click on '"Edit Profile"
Then look for "User Version"

I'm on Windows and when I click on the Minecraft(2) Icon, it won't open, with this little message box popping up instead:

I have now just tried launching the 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 release with the new launcher and it ends with a 'Game ended with bad state (exit code 0)'
