so on my mac i opened up a world and now its been 2 days and my minecraft is stuck on converting level and i can close the window how can i fix this

Its most likely a jar problem. Just re-install your Minecraft .jar and you should be fine. Also remove any/all mods you have installed.
First, are any other maps loading? If so it may be your save file is corrupt. If not I'd copy all files you'd want to keep (saves, mods) and delete and do a fresh restart of mine craft, could be possible getting a fresh .jar may do the trick. Hope this helps!
