Make your server the best it can be!
If you are a new server owner looking to make your server better, or even if you are already a server owner check out my blog about how to make your server better, and check even if you think your server is amazing, because it doesn't hurt to look.
This blog goes in detail about choosing your host, advertising, selecting staff, banning/warning punishments, donations, gameplay, building, plugins, website, and shop.
I will try to keep the blog updated and keep adding more information as time passes!

And make sure the server isn't being run entirely by donations.
Ahh, I must add a section to my list about that. Will do!
Added a new section about how to hire developers and builders.
Added a "How to manage donations" section
How to manage your donations
When your Minecraft server starts to become big, some players will start donating to your server if they think it's a unique server and they will play for a long while. When you get your first donation don't get all happy and buy yourself whatever you want right away. If your server starts of with less than 1GB of ram you might want to upgrade your server if your server is gaining popularity. If you advertise your server everyday and get more players everyday you will be more likely to get another donation. After you have upgraded your server to at the least 4GB, or be able to handle 30 players at once, you should start investing your money into plugins, buildings, or graphics. Some great unique plugins require payment of at the least $5.00, or you could hire a developer for at least $50 a month. You could also use donations to cover for buildings you want built by build teams average for a good spawn is ~$75. Graphics are a great way to make your server seem professional, because if you have a eye-catching banner you will get more clicks on your server. What I usually do is change the banner every 1-3 months to make sure we have an updated banner, and something new for people to look at. Remember when you first start off your server you most likely won't recieve a donation right away, unless you are a very unique server.
[PRO TIP]: Make sure you always have money to cover the servers' cost before you buy anything, because you want a server to put those bought things on.
