Making a resource pack.
So I have a normal folder and a zip file containing the exact same contents. When I use the folder as a resource pack, the sounds and textures load. When I try to use the zip file it gives this error:
Caught error stitching, removing all assigned resourcepacks
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: MALFORMED

My guess would be that the .zip would need to be unpacked into a normal folder, but I'm not sure.
I literally do not know, never seen this problem before :/
um do maybe you need to compress that into a folder idk. what part of the resource pack is that?
I'm making a resource pack for my server. I need it to be in a .zip to make it sendable from the server.
When you open the .zip, are you seeing the folder containing the assets, or are you seeing the assets, pack.png, etc.?
That could be a problem. You might be zipping the folder containing the assets, when you need to be highlighting all the assets, pack.png, ect. and zip that.

I had the same guess when i saw this !
This is what I see when I double click my .zip:

You're missing your pack image. Add a 256 x 256 image called pack into the folder.
Ok found the problem. Turns out you can't have sounds with weird characters.
you have to do is put the items from the normal unzipped folder into a new zipped folder. ( not the whole unzipped folder just the stuff inside)
Turns out your filenames shouldn't have accented characters like this À.
