So i want to host a Minecraft server with my friends. Because this is my first time hosting, i need your help. I was looking on google and youtube for good hosting services, and found some, but when i saw the reviews, some people said that they are bad. Do you know any other good hosting websites? And the last question is when i go to book a server, its says that i need to pay the full amount, for example for i have to pay 5$ per month for 6 months, and when i go to the last step its says Pay: 30$, do i pay those 30$ in the beginning or when. We're not allowed to give you names or links to hosting companies here, it's against the forum rules. However, I can tell you that generally a lot of what hosting companies offer isn't that important for a first-time server owner. If you have the money, go ahead for a popular one, if you don't have a high budget then go for the cheapest ones.
Concerning the payments: if it says 5$ for 6 months, and asks for $30, that means it's a semi-annual payment, which in the long-run costs less but you can't refund halfway through your 6 month period. You pay for it all at once, and you get the server for that amount of time.
Ok so to answer your first question I reccomend either Server Pro or MCProHosting. I am currently using a large package from Server Pro and I love their quick customer service but ive also heard great things from MCProHosting. Regarding your payment that will depend on the site you use. Some will want you to renew monthly while others want to be payed the full amount before. From experience Server Pro is monthly and you can set it to auto renew. Keep in mind if you are still confused to just ask the server hosting service via their help tabs. You also mentioned that this is just for your friends so I would honestly consider going the free route. Although hosts are nice you can easily port forward your server in 15 minutes tops. This would allow more freedom and as many plugins as you would like granted your computer may not be able to handle it but still. Also many of the server hosting services offer a free hosting set up that is not nearly as good as the premium but is still fantastic for just a few friends (5 tops).
