My Map Reset

I was playing on my server and I made a cool house but I wanted to use the playsound command and it didn't recognize it. I deleted the Essentials plugin and started my server up again to see if the playsound command would work but when I went on my map was reset and everything I built was gone.
the only other mod I have is worldedit.
Is there any way I can get my map back? I forgot to back it up and I was wondering if you can just delete something that was all the progress you made since a certain point in the game.
Thanks in advance

That is odd.
It could be because your world corrupted itself and it just regenerated on startup based off the level seed that is defined in the server.properties

But that is a worse case scenario.
Otherwise, I am out of ideas.

I wish I could get it back. I worked so hard on it. I least I wasn't done yet.
It was a haunted mansion with booby traps and looked really cool with tons of holes in it everywhere.
I was going to use a command block to make it play sounds so it was like there were monsters nearby, but the playsound command wasn't recognized. That's when it all went downhill.
But thx for all the suggestions

In your server.properties, under world-name does it still say "world"?

Under level-name it says what I named it originally before the map decided to disappear

Well I am sure that it didn't delete your world.
So why it moved, I have no idea.

It might be another problem that I am overlooking.

You can try to just start wondering around to see if you notice anything that is the same.

Sadly i made it on a flat world so everything looks the same
I made a single player world with the same seed to see where spawn was and it was where spawn was later moved in my mulitplayer world. now im starting to think it changed the seed or something.

Oh I just realized why. Heh

Essentials stored your last location, so when you logged back on, you are not in the same place you were. Your stuff is still there, you just need to find it.

Deleting essentials shouldn't have deleted your world.

You might have accidentally deleted the "world" folder and the server made a new one on startup.

If you did, then there is no way of getting it back without a backup.

I never deleted the map cuz I checked in my recycle bin. All I did was remove essentials from the folder temporarily.
