Hello, so I am trying to run a vanilla minecraft server. I've installed ubuntu linux 11.04 on a old pc of mine. The pc has 2GB of RAM and CPU of 3GHz. My speedtest shows 25Mbit down and 5Mbit up. When the information is entered http://canihostaminecraftserver.com/, it tells me I can run easily 10-15 people. However, even with just two of us, there is extreme lag and the server shows that in the terminal, complaining fo being up to 5000ms behind. What else can I do to fix this? Why is this happening?

Try getting more GB for your PC, and make sure your server is running off of only 1 GB right now. If you use all the GB in your computer, the lag will happen.
