MCPATCHER ARROW VARIANT HELP

So the issue here is, I followed a tutorial on how to create items variants with the mcpatcher > cit function but there's a problem. The variant item does show in the hotbar but it doesn't in the main hand.
Here's what my .properties notepad has:
type=item
items=262
tile=quiver.png
stackSize=8-64
As I said, the variant shows in hotbar but it doesn't show the texture variant in the main hand. Btw the version I'm using is 1.8 so I checked the parameters are right
