so i can't for the life of me figure out which plugin is doing this, but as soon as someone types in the chat more than once they get kicked for "spamming" and it's really annoying!
the plugins i have installed are bethemob, coreprotect, essentials (antibuild, chat, protect and spawn), groupmanager, worldedit and worldguard.
does anyone know what might be causing this?

This might not help anymore but i uninstalled the mobdisguise and it started working perfectly
it's back again, and this time it's on a (almost) brand new server. the plugins i have now are:

I found out the problem with my server. i deleted essentials chat, and then everything just got back to normal
this solved itself apparently! it happened right after i added back essentials.jar and the essentials folder, and after that no one gets kicked
so i manually removed all plugins and reloaded them one by one while having a member spam the chat. after i uploaded essentials.jar and the essentials folder it started happening again, but i can't figure out where i should configure this. help! i'm getting so tired of explaining to everyone that gets on the server that we have an issue, and a lot of them are leaving because of it.
apparently, people are getting kicked for not even chatting. seems like it happens semi-regularly, ten minutes apart maybe... when they don't talk. when they do, it's about every two lines
It is a problem with the BKcommonLib Plugin, I believe it comes with Groupmanager or Worldedit.
Ok this might fix your Little problem,
Remove BKCommonLib while the server is stopped.
Restart the server

i'm glad to see it's just not me! yeah, i already opened my server and i have to explain to everyone that we're having problems with it
my server having the same problem really need help cause we are ready to open the server but we need to fix this first
i just removed plugins individually (essentials (chat, protect), nocheat and worldguard) and had a member spam the chat while they were removed, but they still get kicked off with the message that they were disconnected from server.
Could be something between Essentials Antibuild and Chat. Try removing all essentials and reinstalling.

You might want to check either CoreProtect's config or Essentials Chat config. I would start with Essentials since I'm almost certain CoreProtect is only for blocks and does not include and anti-spam function. Checking never hurts though. It's probably just that there is a spam setting somewhere that is set incorrectly.
