Migrating worlds manually
So, I'm planning on making a daily series on YouTube where I start a world in the the Alpha version of Minecraft and continue playing that world until I hit the first release version of MC. How exactly would the world migration work out? As in, keeping my inventory but not the entire world, so that I can at least see new world gen.

First, make a backup of your world, then attempt to launch the world in the next version of the game.
If the world won't open in the newer version, you may have to try to manually copy & paste sections into a new world with using an older program like the original "MC Edit".

you mean updating your world to newer mc after some time?
Yeah, like Alpha v1 to Alpha v1.1
