Minecraft Chunk Deletion

Hello!

So with 1.7, I plan on generating a new survival world for my players, but want to keep the spawn city in the same world it is in now. However, since players have been playing on the soon to be "old world" for quite a few months now, a ton of chunks have been loaded already, and with the amount of chunks that will be loaded in the new 1.7 world, that would create some memory problems. Is there any way to delete certain chunks except for the ones that make up the spawn city? If so, what is the process in doing so?

Use a NBT editor if you want to change the seed.

If you want to remove everything except the spawn:
Tuxed
1. Take a backup.
2. Edit level.dat if you want to change the seed.
3. Install WorldBorder. Set the border to the area around spawn (/wb set) and use /wb trim.
4. Remove WorldBorder.
