Minecraft crashes when i click singleplayer
Please help. I started playing minecraft again for the past couple weeks, and everything was going just fine. But ever since yesterday, Minecraft crashes every time I press single player on the menu screen. I can click on multiplayer and option ect. but for whatever reason it crashes when i click single player. it doesnt even show any of my worls. I've tried deleting and re-installing Minecraft and Java to no avail. It happens with every version of minecraft. Even the new 1.16.1 (which is what this crash report is from.)
Anyways, here is the crash report:

The report indicates that java is out of memory. It also indicates that you are allocating a max of 2gb. In most cases, this is enough to run minecraft, however, if you have the memory available, you could try upping this to 4096mb (4gb) and see if that assists.
Hey, thanks for the fast reply! how do I get more memory for Java?
Never mind, I figured out how to up the gb. i went to 6gb and the game still chrashed :/ any other suggestions?
is this the first time you are running minecraft? are you using forge?
No, i've been playing it for the past couple of weeks. yes i have forge installed but it crashes on any version I try to play, with or without forge
Unfortunately not, the report above indicates a vanilla1 1.16.1 install, which should easily run in 2GB, but for some reason java does not appear to have enough available. I can only suggest an alternative launcher, which is safe to use if you wish to try it.
I've been using it for a long time and its very easy to set up for both vanilla and modded minecraft. Yes, its something new to learn, but if you take the time, I think you'll find its worth the effort.
Its called MultiMC, you can get it from here : https://multimc.org/

Could you post the new crashlog after you tried to allocate 6GB to the game? I just want to be sure that you've done it correctly and that the game is actually being allocated the 6GB that you're trying to give it. Also, how much RAM in total does your PC have?
Here is the new crash log, this is the 1.14.4 version and I also allocated 4GB of RAM this time. Also my PC has only 5.89GB of RAM.

Have you checked other programs and made sure it's only minecraft that's crashing? It's an out of ram error but you should have plenty of ram. That may be indicative of a problem with a ram card.
You can follow the steps here to check:
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-check-your-pc-memory-problems-windows-10
Otherwise, are you using the default java installation that ship's with Minecraft? That should be located at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft Launcher\runtime\jre-x64\bin\javaw.exe
Updating Java independently won't change this file. If you've changed minecraft to run off a newer version of java, you may want to change it back to default to see if that helps.

hey, i have the same problem you do with Minecraft crashing, do you have a solution yet?
only thing i can think of, try going to your .minecraft folder, and while the game is closed, rename the saves folder to something youll remember (like "saves" to "saves1"
see if you can open it now
also, how many items does it say are in the saves folder, at the bottom left of windows explorer?
