Minecraft 1.8, is actually lag free in multiplayer, with 50fps max
But in singleplayer...
I cant even spawn its so laggy.
I have optifine installed, I allocated more ram...
Any help?

World Generation maybe? Mine always crashes when I make a new world, even though I have like 100 FPS

Minecraft 1.8.3 is out
Minecraft runs a local server while you play singleplayer, so no wonder it lags more than multiplayer.
Maybe try and give it more ram? Switch video card for minecraft? Also, the new launcher doesnt require java, so are you using that? (minecraft.msi)
for me, any version above 1.7.10 instantly crashes upon starting minecraft.
I really don't care though because I prefer 1.7 over 1.8.

For me its laggy in single player and multiplayer, probably because my computers just not made for that, its so bad it shuts itself off. >.>
You're saying that 50 fps is low? You should consider yourself lucky since some people can't even get 20 fps
max 50 fps means 0-50 fps
Switch Vsync off / framerate unlimited/ turn clouds off/ and put render distance no higher than 9 it works for me. Maybe have particle effects to minimal as well

My launcher automatically downloaded Java 8, but 32 bit and I didn't didn't notice for a while, could that be the problem here?
