OK, so just maybe like a week ago, pretty much all my programs have started to do this thing that I have never seen before. Every once in a while i can see at the top of Minecraft and other programs, it flickers not responding then goes right back to the game. In Minecraft it sometimes resets text as i am typing, randomly freezes, and just plain annoys the hell out of me, etc... This has just started happening to me and never has happened before. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this or if it is just me. If anyone knows a fix for this issue please post below. Any and all suggestions are much appreciated.

My computer:
Windows 8 Pro (x64 bit)
NVIDIA Geforce 640
14 GB RAM
( If you would like me to add something to this list I can ).

I very much doubt it is a virus, if it was your computer would have been wiped of files already (presuming it is that kind of virus). You should regularly check for viruses anyway, just in case. Has it ever crashed as a result of this? If so, could you give me the code. Also, you might want to check for buggy mods that you have installed.

The drivers that come with Win8 are not compatible with Minecraft.

If you have the possibility to retrieve this to the previous versions, it will fix your problem since most people who are having this issue is drivers related.

You're not an idiot! It happens and people tend to freak out when things like this happen.

However I've only been reading posts on the Mojang Bug Tracker and all the issues regarding Minecraft not working with Win8 revolve around Drivers.

Maybe hop there and try to find the path on how to make it work. I own Win7 and I have no clue how Win8 works nor I want to after all the bad reviews I've read about it.

I'll try to help you in finding a link to a possible fix

EDIT:

Check the answer given by Greg Richardson I hope it helps!

I just figured out that my friend is having the same problem too. We both have the program Errorfix and think that has something to do with it. Maybe it deleted something it shouldn't have or something. We also have both use the program recently so maybe it was a bug in the program.

Do you usually have several softwares running at the same time or just one? Could it be a kind of overload?

Sometimes I do. I'll try to exit out of everything and then get back.

The exact same thing happens to be and I'm running the same processor!
I think you might be able to reset to factory settings and it will be fixed but It's usally a problem in downloads or your harddrive screwing up.

Did you download any recent programs?
Try uninstalling programs via start>Control panel>Programs>Uninstall programs

It wouldn't hurt to run a virus scan. I recommend Malwarebytes; works well for me.

Yeah I'll do a full system scan now. I'm hoping it isn't something serious if it IS a virus of some sort.

How long do you wait for it to respond? Cause when it happened to me it just takes around 5-mins for it to respond.
