My good friend got Minecraft on her Xbox, but for some reason it would shut off her Xbox whenever she played it. It was the same thing on her PC. She took her Xbox and PC to be looked at and they had viruses on them. She had gotten Minecraft from the Xbox Marketplace and Minecraft.net. Why would it not work? And why would it have a virus?

If her internet network was unsecured or using an unsecure pass-code format, such as WEP, it is possible she acquired a virus that was completely unrelated to either of her downloads.
Well, your friend could have gotten the virus form anywhere. I think the reason is due to the virus. It is weird that both the x-box and pc have viruses at the same time. Let me know if it works after the viruses are gone. Another thing to consider is if you have the required amound of ram and video drivers etc. to run minecraft. Pm me with more info if it still will not work after the virus is gone.
