Hi,
I've been trying to combat this issue for a while now.
My minecraft on the lowest settings jumps from 3fps to 30 to 60+ all the time, it's never constant...
I have a Ryzen 5 2500U (laptop)
and 2.5GB allocated to minecraft
When playing, the java process is never more than 15-20% CPU utilised..
RAM in task manager never goes above 75-80%, could it just be that this CPU has crap single-core performance?
The CPU temp is literally between 40-50C at all times, thats not the issue so I was wondering if anyone had similar problems to this and could help?
Thanks,
Alynthius :-)

Do you have optifine? Optifine can help with fps.
I've seen someone with a similar issue in r/Minecraft but I don't know how to fix it :/
Does it also happen in Multiplayer servers?

Are you running on a laptop or desktop?
Is your max framerate set at unlimited?
How much is your total memory (RAM)?

On a laptop, it is plugged in and max framerate is on unlimited
Can you take a look at your battery settings/status from the Windows Mobility Center.
Can you set the battery status to High Performance if it's not.
Right click the battery icon on the taskbar >> Click Windows Mobility Center >> Set the battery status to High Performance

That actually really helped, thank you, it was set to Balanced.. It now bounces between 50-110 which while i still don't understand the wide range of fps, it's a lot smoother, thank you :)
Glad I could help! 👍
