I logged onto minecraft today to play on 1.8.9 and my game crashed. The specific full error is: java.lang.RuntimeException: No OpenGL context found in the current thread.

i tried launching every Minecraft version. None of them worked and got the same error except 1.15. 1.15 worked. It leads me to believe it has something to do with forge. Yesterday, i wanted to create a modded survival world with 1.15 forge which I already had. I added some mods. The mods are:

https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/caelus

https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/curios

https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/curious-elytra

However, I don’t think the mods have anything to do with it. I took them out of the folder and it still doesn’t work. I haven’t downloaded anything else recently to make this stop working. Any help?

You could try using an alternative minecraft launcher called MultiMC which is available here : https://multimc.org/
Easy to set up. Install it, open it, right-click on the window, choose create instance, choose your MC version, click ok, add a minecraft
account via the settings / accounts and away you go - usually takes a minute or two at most. Excellent for modded as well as Vanilla.

MultiMC takes care of installing Forge with a single click. Here is a small document (open with Wordpad) showing how to install Forge in MultiMC on one of your Minecraft instances :
