MINECRAFT 1.6 LAUNCHER DOESN'T EVEN START GAME

Is this the first time you're launching it?
Have you been trying to install mods?
Have you done something unusual on mc lately?
Did you try to force update/run another version of minecraft like 1.6.2 or 1.5.2?

What if its the worlds that are messing him up?

Are you trying to install mods? If you don't know how to do it the new way don't.
.minecraft > versions > delete mods folder. If that didn't work, Just delete your whole .minecraft and get a fresh copy from Minecraft.net

Dude you have to wait till the other window that minecraft is in opens up.

Try backing up your saves, deleting the .minecraft from your Libraries/Roaming folder, and then running the launcher again. You might have a corrupt or just messed up file somewhere in there that's not what it should be, and just starting entirely fresh will hopefully solve the problem.

EDIT: Ninja'd. But yeah.

try deleting EVERYTHING inside .minecraft (offcourse except your resource packs and saves)

Then download a fresh launcher from Minecraft.net
