Minecraft on mac frame rate
I've Minecraft on the iMac which has just been installed (its the latest version from mine craft.net) and when looking I seem to get in the range of 0 to 45 FPS. Which is annoying has the screen seems to freeze up and then catch up with it self again.
Anyone have any ideas why it is doing this at all and what can be done? I've made sure I have the most up to date version of Java installed also have monkeyfarm's texture pack on till I find something I'm enjoying more
If it helps the iMac Specs are:
Built Mid 2010
3.2 GHz Intel Core i3 Processor
4GB DDR3 Ram
ATI Radeon HD 5670 512 MB Graphics Card
Running the latest version of Mavericks

What program is that, Xero?
This is a off topic question, you could have PMed me, or added me on Skype.
Don't take this to offense, just a suggestion for future forum replies.

This is the data I got from the specs you provided:

Maybe Minecraft just has lots of bugs (I don't play anymore, so I wouldn't know.)
Also consider that Mavericks is a fairly new OS, so Java may be having a hard time with it.

Same thing with me. I have a 2013 iMac HD 27" and it does literally the same. Ranges from 0 - about 100 though for me. Sometimes it will run perfectly smoothly and then lag down to 2 or 3 for a bit, then go back. I dunno really xD
