Minecraft 1.8 ram broken?!?
my minecraft is running with 455MB or memory and when I try to give minecraft more memory it doesn't change PLEASE HELP
EDIT:
I was wrong about the restart its 1.8 that's only allowing 455MB of ram, I went to 1.7 and it had 2 GBs of ram so, some things wrong with 1.8 and I think a lot of people are lagging because of ram. I need more ram because I use up 100% of the ram minecraft has alot of the time and starts lagging because of that

I fixed it all it needed was a computer restart (I don't get how computers work..)
Do you have 32 or 64 bit java?
If you have 32 bit you can only have 1gb of ram
If you have 32 bit you can only have 1gb of ram
if you have 32bit it can only have 1.5 not 1gb
I found something on the launcher here:

(this is after I put in -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M like epicanthony76 said to on his post on how to add more ram)
