2. I think the problem may be either you didn't install Java correctly, or the computer you are running Minecraft on isn't good enough for it.
Solution: Try installing Java 64 bit or beef up your computer. (if its a laptop idk)
As for your resouce folder, try to find somebody who is willing to share their file.
