Minecraft paintings glitched

so, i just updated to 1.5, and got new texture packs and stuff. but now when i place paintings, they show for a seconds then turn invisible. then i cant click on them, but when i exit out and go back to the world, the painting shows up. i really want to fix this because i use paintings a lot. any answers?
