After the new update, all minecraft servers had to update as well right? Well, after they all updated my computer found it very hard to be a client for servers. It lagged so bad that the environment didn't even show up until 5 minutes later. Usually my computer works very well with servers, and it is clear to me that it isn't the server doing it because I have tried many servers. So what do I do now, because although the update made single player easier, it made multiplayer impossible.

This is a somewhat rare, but not unique bug. Some people are affected by it and I am not sure that anyone knows why. Hopefully the next update (which should be out any day now) will fix this error for you.
