Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew why my server list randomly disappears in 1.8. Its not when I click refresh, its when i click multiplayer. If anyone has any solutions or help it would be greatly appreciated. I do not have any mods on at the time it it completely vanilla.

best solution: back up your serverlist file into your backup folder after filling out evvery server you can find again. cant really help you further than that, it happened randomly a few times to me too, now it has stopped.

Norton is a great anti virus but it does have a thing about removing Minecraft files :/ (it's a conspiracy :0 )

Anyway, most anti viruses minecraft sound files which is what causes the no sound issue that you may sometimes get. I am guessing that it COULD also affect the server list?

Could be. If it's a modpack and it's installed on the desktop, it could be Windows not liking it there since Windows is trying to annoy keep your computer safe.

Did it disappear after you updated to 1.8, or is it just random?

It is just random, I'll check my antivirus.

Its happened about 5 times now. Seems to happen when I have lots of servers on my list.

Don't get so many servers? I don't know. I would suggest AVG as antivirus. I have it and I've never had issues with it. I'd also check out Spybot S&D- just to add a little extra protection.

Could be from your antivirus. Sometimes they like to think that a file is corrupt/ dangerous and should be removed. I've never had this happen to me personally, but I've heard similar things happen to other people.
