My Minecraft server won't work!

When I try starting up my server it says that it couldn't bind to the port! I have the ip in my wifi internet thing and in my server. Are they suppose to be different? Little help! My friend and I really need this server.

In server.propeties file try changing the port form 25565 to 25566
the ip you connect to, to play, and the ip you forward the port to are both different.
