Minecraft unusually slower then normal?
Hey guys
I recently just got back into Minecraft after 4 months without a working computer. Since my old laptop died, I had to wait to get the money for a new one. I then ended up with a Dell Latitude E5410 laptop.
Now here is the problem. Minecraft could run at about 60 fps on my old laptop and had a dual core AMD processor running at about nearly 3GHz. My new laptop has a dual core Intel Core i5 M560 running at 2.67GHz with 4GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics (not the 3000 version fortunately) and Windows 10 Pro.
I only get up to 30-40 fps and it always fluctuates (very unstable). I believe this is not at fault of my computer since I can run many Steam games which require heavier specifications and can still run stable on my computer e.g Terraria, Plague Inc Evolved and Castle Crashers.
It always seems to be Minecraft with this problem. I have latest version of the game including the latest Optifine. What has Mojang added which bog down the mid-spec computers?

hm, weird. Different optifine version should not be such a big difference.
what version were you using before your 4 month break? if it was 1.7, the lighting system became heavier since then.
Also try getting the latest version of Java. the minecraft launcher may not use it anymore, but what java version you have installed still seems to affect the performance.
Windows 10 is also a factor, for some reason. If you can't find a solution and it's really a problem for you, consider reverting to windows 7 or 8.

The same version as it is now. Different Optifine though. Java is up to date and has a 64-bit version as well. Windows 10 is not really causing the lag, it was the same with Windows 7 before I upgraded
