Minecraft Won't start up!

Well, the problem is that when I try to load up minecraft, all it does is show the mouse changing to that blue circle (when it is trying to complete a task), but that is all.
What I've tried:
Uninstalled MC, then Reinstall (failed)
Ran in Windows XP Service Pack 3 (failed)
Ran as Administraitor (failed)
Also, I don't know what the problem is, so help would be helpful. I will be giving any information that will help me get it back up and working.
