Minecraft wont run?

So i have been trying a few days now.i ran it and it said "Would you like to update?" so i said yes.then right when it hit "Downloading packages..." it freezed. so i left it open to see if it would work sometime soon.a couple hours later,i went back to mc(i just minimized it).it was still on downloading. a couple secs later,it closed on me. so,i force updated it. it didn't work. then i went to log in and it said "Would you like to update?" again.i said no.it still wouldn't work.i am running on a windows 7 PC.

You probably deleted your .jar without deleting your whole bin folder. That will freeze yah up real quick.

My Minecraft freezes if I dont have the .jar
Maybe you accidently deleted it. Try redownloading your .jar or something.

There may be something corrupting your Minecraft that is not in the bin folder. I'm not sure if that is possible though, but you never know. Try deleting Minecraft and it's components completely, and re-download the launcher from www.minecraft.net. Or you could grab an improved launcher, such as MultiMC. I use it, and it allows you to have multiple Minecraft instances. Anyway, hope I helped.
