Minecraft worlds disappearing
I got Minecraft java edition for the first time a little more than a week ago. I made one Minecraft world, played it for a few days, then one morning I clicked singleplayer and was greeted with the menu to make a new world. I wouldn't think much of it but this happened again this morning. The worlds both lagged and crashed, twice on the first world, once on the second, but they were still playable immediately after the crashes

This is the new launcher. If you download the old launcher, this won't happen.
This is a common bug in Minecraft Java Edition when playing it on not-so-powerful computers. It solution is easier than it seems:
And that's it! It's now fixed.
Sorry for my english.
- Go to .minecraft/saves
- Click on the folder with the name of the world that was deleted
- Delete the file named "level.dat"
- Rename the file "level.dat_old" to "level.dat"
And that's it! It's now fixed.

If your disk space is near full clean it because windows doesn't like certain files, mostly minecraft worlds since they take up alot of space
1gb for 77 worlds
1gb for 77 worlds
I dont think Windows has a preference for certain files, unless you mean loading/processing speed of those files.
A file with a certain amount of data (e.g. 1gb) will take the exact same space in other OS' like MAC, Linux, Android, IOS etc.
