Modding 'Vanilla" Server

So I need some help: I'm trying to run (what I assume is 'Vanilla', it's just the regular server download that minecraft gives you), and I'd like to know how to add mods. I'm looking to add (mainly) Archaeology and hopefully tomes. I's also like to know how to change the server name or anything.

Any other useful tips for servers are appreciated, I've never done anything with my own server before so thanks!

yeah it is and vanilla is just the style of playing... you could have 50 plugins but if normal pplayers dont feel the effects of any of them then its still vanilla for them

If you add bukkit it isn't a vanilla server anymore.

you cant mod a vanilla server you need to make it bukkit... and to change the name and stuff by editting the server.properties file
