Mods not working?

So ye ive tried to install treecapitator mod, and ive done it all by dropping and dragging into my minecraft.jar, ive used mod loader as well. But it still crashes? Ive even deleted the METAINF, so after ive followed all of the tutorials correctly minecraft still crashes and wont load?

I have the same problem
Story:
Before, I had Optifine. But I updated, then, it was gone. I tried it adding it again, but it just stays black. I added modloader, but still, black. But I re-updated, so no more mods, and it worked fine. So, how do I fix it. (I'm aware that the Optifine and Modloader versions are compatible.

You probably don't have modloader then
Have you got any more mods in your minecraft.jar ?
Have you tried putting modloader in then opening minecraft then closing then putting it in ?
Have you got the compatible version for treecapitator for modloader ?
