This is a tutorial on how to turn your minecraft message of the day (motd) to a colored message!

I imagine that most of you reading this have tried to put &3 in front of your MOTD and it didn't make it go turquoise. This post will tell you how to change it!
Before you read into how to change the colour of your MOTD. Here are the normal formatting codes used in-game in minecraft.

Remember to put "&" in front of it!
0 - BLACK
1 - DARK BLUE
2 - DARK GREEN
3 - DARK AQUA
4 - DARK RED
5 - DARK PURPLE
6 - GOLD
7 - GRAY
8 - DARK GRAY
9 - INDIGO
a - GREEN
b - AQUA
c - RED
d - PINK
e - YELLOW
f - WHITE
k - Obfuscated
l - Bold
m - Strikethrough
n - Underline
o - Italic
r - Reset

Now, in order to get our MOTD coloured we need to put § instead of the &. So something like &3 would become §3 The full list of these formatting codes are here:

§0 - BLACK
§1 - DARK BLUE
§2 - DARK GREEN
§3 - DARK AQUA
§4 - DARK RED
§5 - DARK PURPLE
§6 - GOLD
§7 - GRAY
§8 - DARK GRAY
§9 - INDIGO
§a - GREEN
§b - AQUA
§c - RED
§d - PINK
§e - YELLOW
§f - WHITE
§k - Obfuscated
§l - Bold
§m - Strikethrough
§n - Underline
§o - Italic
