Mouse Jerky in 1.9 or up? FIX HERE!
So I'll give you the short story, I havn't played Minecraft in forever like a good year or two from being burned out from the game. Came back during the 1.10 update to play and found my mouse to be acting up and being really jerky-ish, as in the movements were not smooth. I have windows mouse-acceleration turned off and I'm running at 1600 dpi on a Corsair Scimitar mouse at a 1000Hz polling rate. I've been seeing recently as I was looking for a fix that many other people were having a similar problem that I had and I just found the fix with a little bit of experimenting.
What I did try:
- Optifine
- Updating Java
- Testing Different Versions of Minecraft
My General Settings for Minecraft:
- Optfine
- 3Gb RAM dedicated
- 8 Render Distance
- Smooth Lighting Minimal
- About 120-300 fps (Running multiple games atm I DO NOT have an accurate number because of that) with 90fps minimum.
*FIX*
For me the fix was simple, change the polling rate of your mouse. Through a bit of testing for me Minecraft does not like mice using a polling rate of 1000. On my mouse I can use polling rates of 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, and 1000Hz. As I am a fps enthusiast I stick to 1000Hz to keep the most accurate. I found that by simply switching down to 500Hz OR LOWER solves the problem.
*For those who don't know what "Polling Rate" is*
Polling rate WILL NOT majorly affect gameplay for you if your sticking to NON-First Person Shooter games (so no Call of Duty, Battlefield, or CSGO and etc.) Polling rate is simply the amount of times the mouse sends its location on your screen to your computer per second. The higher your polling rate is the more accurate it'll be. (Think of it like fps but for your mouse, the higher it is the lest "jerky, choppy, or laggy" it will be).
I hope this helped anyone who was having a similar problem as me if you can't find how to change the polling rate of your mouse I reccomend just google searching it for your specific mouse .
