Move world to dimension generate new spawn

Due to recent update was thinking of adding dimension door mod trying to copy my original world into a dimension folder and generating a new world from the back up server and copying it into the originals slot on the server. That way I could get all the newest stuff active without players having to explore into un-mapped chunks and still keep anything they built.
Even better if I could set each dimension's properties as far as pvp or pve since WORLDEDIT, WORLDGUARD, and ESSENTIALS do not seem to be FORGE friendly unless I'm missing something.
Then the people with the nukes and guns are more in one dimension and magic in another but the can mingle in the spawn (though I have been careful to balance what magic has vrs what tech has). Any ideas?
