Can anyone say if its possible/how to safely move the .minecraft folder to another drive, while keeping everything inside it intact and functioning?

Also simply just moving the .minecraft entire folder would still be safe. At worst, your launcher cant connect to your profile at startup/may create a new .minecraft folder, however you could just link it to the moved .minecraft folder and all ingame data would be fine
