Multiplayer Pixelmon Not Working

First off, I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong section.
I installed Pixelmon on my forge server so me and my friends could play. It doesn't ask for a starter pokemon, even though when I press E in creative it still shows the pixelmon items. If i try to throw a Pokeball, it won't let me. Please help me out here, if you can. I'd really appreciate it

You got a skype? I might be able to help.
I could always provide you a zip of my server files that runs a pixelmon server just fine you'd have to edit them to your liking though. but I know they do work. and its for 3.0
