My mum is going to stop my server what should i DO

Hey, watch it! I run three powerful servers in my home and my parents approve. We have a private connection which has 100 Mb down and 25 Mb up. Just because I run it from home, doesen't mean it's crap. My many tens of thousands of players enjoy our 98% uptime. Anyway, enough of my ridiculous bigoted attitude, your comment annoyed me slightly.

If you want the server to stay online, find yourself a free VPN or something on the net, or ask about for someone willing to host the server for you. I shouldn't imagine your server is that big, upload the files to megaupload or mediafire in an archive and see what gives. That seems a sensible solution.

I love at all the people telling him to stop playing Minecraft. Let's see them quit Minecraft for a week and see what happens to em.

Ok there's a very complex set of instructions in order to fix this.
Mmmk lets get started
First, you close minecraft
Second, you shut down your computer or coldboot it, which ever works.
Third, you change into some clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.
Fourth, you get some shoes on.
Fifth, open the door.
Sixth, go to your garage and get out like a basketball or soccerball
Seventh, you start playing with it, I recommend inviting friends over for improved results.
This sequence of instructions has been proven to work 100% of the time with these sorts of problems. Hope this helps and good luck!

Well first of all limit your minecraft time... I barely rack up 3 hours every week of minecraft because I spend more time doing things in real life. Don't let minecraft tak over your life, maybe you can find a new hobby? I play the guitar, do football (American Football) and Rugby and focus on my school work most. Sounds painful but trust me, you get over it. And soon enough you will have your minecraft server back!

Strike her. And demand her to make you a sammich. Just kidding. Tell her, to allow you to keep your server up, but start doing the things she wants you to do. So if it's like, she asks you to help her with stuff like go get groceries, go help her. Prove to her you're mature enough to handle it, and she'll let you keep it up.

If you can't come to an agreement, then shut the server down. She is after all, your mother and you shouldn't show disrespect to someone who provides everything that allows you to survive and have a good childhood.

have a mother-son day with her and get her to change her mind or make an agreement it will prob work and it will be nice to your mom

It's easy solution.

1. press your start key and "r" at the same time
2. type in %appdata%, press enter
3. Go to .>bin>Minecraft.jar
4. Locate META-INF
5. Right click and delete.

really just try to stop playing minecraft as much, casual gaming is fine but gaming has been proven to be addictive and Minecraft is very addictive. Talk to your mom dont go in there complaining and whining because you want a server, act grown up you would be surprised that she might actually listen to you. if your school marks are failing because of it the server should go period full stop no questions school is much more important. listen to her points and take them to heart mother knows best after all.
also just remember this is just a game you can start another server at a later stage. it really isnt the end of the world.

Maybe you should look at my signiture, anyway you should be able to talk your mum out of it plus its only a server if it was good it wouldn't be home run... therefore why should you post this on the forums we can't help the fact you mum wants you not to be on minecraft all day or what not...

just save the whole server to a pendrive then put it back on the computer once your mum has tried to delete it. It has happened to me before, so i know what to do email me if you need anymore help with your server.

You can't just make a secret server, she will find out sooner or later. If you could come to an agreement with her she might let you stay on. You cannot let MC get in the way of your homework etc. Try not to get addicted to MC because it is an addicting game, but if you don't spend too much time on it you can fight the addiction. I'm not saying you should ditch MC, just don't play it as much as you currrently do.
Also, do you and your mum share a computer? Because if you do, remember if she wants to go on the computer that she is entitled to go on when she wants to.
Follow that advice, and you might just get your server back.

I bought my server today...

If your hosting it off a home PC then she is probably pissed at all the bandwidth your using up. Also, just go outside and get some exercise instead of playing a PC all day. There is a reason our youth have a lower life expectancy then their parents....

Mabe if you didn't play so much, or you were old enough to be SOMEWHAT responsible enough to deal with this without asking other minecrafters on the INTERNET what you should do, WHAT THE HELL CAN WE DO. Mabe if you weren't so stupid this wouldn't happen.

I don't know what you intend to do. But I might be assuming you run the Minecraft server from your house?

The only option really is to suck it up. Your mum pays for the electricity, the internet and more-over she pays for you.

If she pays for a Minecraft server hosted somewhere else, then you need to find someone else willing to pay for it. But really dude, she's your mother? She wants to shut down your server because she's dissapointed in you, it's called a punishment and they exist for a reason.

I'm not an adult, but she's probably quite sensible, get over it.

simple, try and collect money your self and pay for it, if possible get a job... well most likely not... though you can make deals

Does she pay for it? How much DO you play? Are there growing tensions between you and hers relationship?
