Hi everybody, I've been browsing the forums without an account for some time and I'm wondering how people manage to obtain a consistent audience on all their servers. The people that HAVE joined my server always go on, only to realize that nobody else is on, and try again later. I've been working on the server for the past year with my older brother Markus, and I feel underwhelmed based on the amount of effort we put into it.

To anybody wondering, it essentially combines Minecraft, Harry Potter, and The Hunger Games. (Who doesn't like all three of those?!) I really am aching to see more people on the server because the whole point of making it was to create a community that would enjoy all the work me and my partner put in. I hope somebody can answer this soon

Note: I am 21 years old and expect to be treated as such.

Ive just checked out this server and and on a glance it seems like its functional.

For me the main problem with server based on a single mini-game like this is that if it doesn't have a player-base, a players joins and cant really play cause theres not enough players to start a HG games session, wich ends up being a repetitive cycle and no one stays...

My recommendation would be to have something other than just hunger-games added to the server, something for the players to do even if theres only 1 or 2 people online, maybe kitpvp, or something similar that way some might stay and in time with luck you develop a minimum player base.
A hunger games server requires you to have a decent player average online, otherwise players will just leave for the next server.

Good luck Stella!

Tried today on 2/24...got an outdated server message. Guess that could hinder it too. Most people like servers that are up to date with the latest client version.

As to the people issue, it really is the community. It's one of those things you just have to keep trying and trying and see what sticks. In my couple years of experience I've learned you kinda have to be willing to change your ways a little bit to blend with what the community wants, and don't just write off any suggestions they send you- that's one thing that really sends a server downhill quick.

well I'd say the fact that i get "Unknown Host" upon joining is wrong, however sadly it isn't the servers that are bad, its the community. See Here

I've ran a server for 2 years and it eventually went down. Now that i'm trying to get another one up again it's gotten even harder :3
