Need help about server! important question

I have a really important question about my server. I port forwarded and have done everything so people can join. But when i gave my friends the ip so they could get on and it says cannot reach server. When i tryed to use the ip it said the same thing. I even went to my cmd and looked at the ipv4 address and that didn't work either. the site i use is ip chicken and the ip i get from there is the one that doesnt work. So if you can tell me what is wrong please let me know because i really want to make this server public soon.
