Need Help Allocating Ram!
Okay first off, I hope I spelled that correctly.
ANYWAYS
I have a laptop. (Acer Aspire V3-551G-X419)
Lots of people make threads on here about allocating more RAM into Minecraft. I have tried lots of stuff but it always appears with the same message, "Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine. Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit, " when I type in "-Xmx2G"
If anyone could help me fix this, that would be amazing!!!

I allocate up to 3 GB when I'm using mods, since Minecraft will start to lag and crash with only one, and no, the lag isn't associated to FPS, I have shaders mod with Sildur's and it still runs at 40 FPS, even while I have the lag.
Same. With 1GB Minecraft ran at about 15 FPS, but I threw in 3 GB and it jumped to around 70. Maybe it's because I'm using the voxel modpack, but I averaged asbout 45 FPS before anway.
Why do you wanna give it more ram? You want for FPS? Well ram won't give your more FPS, really, it could do the opposite, it could lower your FPS, if you give it too much. 512MB's of ram is all you need for minecraft to run maxed out. 1GB is probably the max you'd ever need.
Yes, but I always give it 2 GB whenever I can to help compensate for potential memory leaks.
OP: You must have a 32-bit version of Java installed. If you have a 64-bit OS, get the latest 64-bit version of Java 8. Otherwise, you're stuck with the 1 GB max heap size for 32-bit Java (which I hear they're looking into increasing in a future version of Java).

I had the same problem. I downloaded Java SDK kit, and it fixed it. I think it may have something to do with permissions that Java has that it can run on your computer.

hmm okay, I will try it out. Just downloading it right?
You will never need 2gb of ram for minecraft, problem fixed don't change it.
