Assuming you paid for hosting, and got a IP from your host, chances are you just received the IP what server used to use.
If I am correct, Reporting that server via that server post, explaining the situation about how the IP is now your server should fix it all.

that means the host needs to change my servers ip which is way more hassle than a moderator removing a post.
No, just report the post as a server that is no longer in control of that IP, and it will be handled.
