thanks i wanted to do it with people on my wireless network!
There are multiple ways to set up a server. If it's supposed to be worldwide, you WILL have to portforward. For a safe server that only runs for people in your network (Bros and sis), do this:
1. Download Minecraft Server.exe from Minecraft.net.
2.Open and configure server properties. I'm coming out with a program to make this easier.
3. Turn your Firewall off.
4. search for the program 'cmd'
5. type 'ipconfig' and look for the number next to Ipv4. It should be something like '192.168.7.2'
6. Run Minecraft Server.exe.
You now have a server within your network! The ip address is the Ipv4.
To set it up worldwide, you have to portforward, though this is dangerous and open to viruses. It's probably easier to just pay somebody to do it for you, though. Hope this helped
