I have a Minecraft server and I have problems connecting to it. the serve is home hosted until we get a new Host and are doing work on the server but when I joined I get the error of prnt.sc/hsnu94. I have had this issue for the past few days and thought it was me, but I asked another staff member, who said he had the same problem

in spigot.yml (assuming you use it)

settings:
netty-threads: 4

Did you lower it?
NOPE! Keep it 4 If that dont fix it, make sure none of your plugins are spamming
the hell out of some remote connection somewhere.
Like McMMO player UUID lookup 500 a time every X seconds to Mojang. (hidden.yml in the .jar)
Many plugins since 1.8 now require UUID info updates from Mojang.
Without enough netty you betty people will DC or not even be able to connect. Even if tps is 20.
In console/in game type tps or mem or lag (some admins forget to remove the perm)
Is it 20 20 20? (20x3 is yummy and the benchmark for "lagless server" *20x3 is the absolute perfection.)
If something is massively lagging the server good luck trying to join if netty thread access is too low.
Also try not to put your spawn near some behemoth laggy build like a massive spawn shop or
public grinder. A nice fast spawn is much better than an impressive yet laggy one.
Where is your server actually hosted? If it is in deepest darkest Mongolia or something
then maybe select a more central server host so players can connect without the
various pingpongs around the place :D It does make a difference. host location.

Below linked images look irrelevant to the problem.

This strikes me as an issue of static vs dynamic IP (off the top of my head - the error to me is what I'd usually see if the server is simply offline). Have you secured yourself a static IP address (for your 'true IP' to get into your network)? If not, you will continue to have problems every so often. The average home network will not suffice if you don't have a connecting IP that stays exactly the same. No-ip or a domain have nothing to do with this - I refer directly to the IP that is used to get into your network. See if that works, as I don't read anything that gives a clear answer to this.

To see if the above is correct, please say - can anyone connect to the server, period? Can you connect just by using the phrase localhost as your IP? If the answers are "no" and "yes", your IP probably changed, and you'll need to point whatever you have as an overlay towards your true IP again, as well as possibly look at your router to make sure the connections aren't being blocked.

That should do it. I'm not sure what the procedure is, but if that's what you did the first time after portforwarding, it should do the same this time.

you can only connect to your own server with ip: Localhost.

This is because your server is located within your own network.

You mean a dedicated ip? something like a custom ip doesn't exist. Maybe with custom you mean "ip-port"? or domain (a domain is like a website address).

One thing missing from your screenshot: when does the error occur? Do players timeout while connecting for the first time, or can others connect and then they eventually timeout?

If the first is true then my guess is that your ISP gave you a new IP address. It sometimes happens. Use sites such as 'whatismyipaddress.com' to verify.

But if it is the latter then you're most likely suffering from lag related issues. Which could happen as your server slowly grows. The more it has to sort out, the more busy it'll be and thus more risks for lag.

Not that I know I'm not the only one with access to console and configs. I can send it in a pastebin if you would like.

Try to go onto canyouseeme.org/ and type in the port to your server and see if the port is forwarded.

At very least, make sure that it is still portforwarded correctly, your local ip has a tendency to change from time to time, not all routers do that, however my router does for security, and some routers will change the ip so if it changed, it may cause that error as that error indicated router/firewall or something is blocking access to the server and it is unable to be joined via internet.

Try to go to the command prompt

Then type in IPCONFIG to bring up the following.

Then log in to your router, via your router ip, mine is 192.168.100.1, however, yours will vary depending on the brand (log in as if it was a website)

NOTE: if you are unsure what yours is, feel free to either look on the back/side/bottom of your router as it should display there, or go to www.portforward.com which is a trusted site for port forwarding, then look for your 'Advanced -> Forwarding' section, it will vary depending on the router you have.

By default, like they said. only localhost or 127.0.0.1 (ip means the same thing) will work and only you can enter via those ips, however, if like you said is true, and it did work up until now this means your local ip (the 192.168) ip I just had you look up via CMD line, has changed. at this point you need to set it up again via your router to allow others in, that error indicates like the previous people had said, your computer is not being read by the internet to anyone, however since a lot of kids on Minecraft like to ddos as if they know anything about it besides getting programs, I wouldn't recommend local hosting anything to the public...

NOTE: if you need any further help my discord is Godlikewars#1714 feel free to add me for future help =) or if you just get stuck on something. but what has happened, is if the server had worked previously, the localip has changed somehow and you would require re-adding it to the router.
