Need Help With a LAN Server

Hi everyone! I'm King_Jumper2 and I would like to make a LAN server so I can play a custom map with my brother.
I have already portforwarded and downloaded the server software. I know my external ip and my internal ip. I made the internal ip a static ip. I can access my server via "localhost" or my internal ip. The problem that I have been having is getting my brother to connect. He has tried the internal and external ip's along with "localhost", but gotten nowhere. I have researched how to create a LAN server and followed the steps such as turning online-mode to false and typing in my internal ip under server ip. Nothing has worked. If anybody has any tips or solutions, I appreciate the help.
