Need help with Optifine

I downloaded both Forge and Optifine, put Optifine in the mods folder, but when I launch Minecraft, the launcher disappears but the game doesn't open. Anyone knows how to make it run?

Also, make sure that it's the forge version of optifine and not the non-forge Version launcher.
If you are using 1.8, it is because optifine doesn't have good compatiblity with forge in 1.8.
If that isn't it, then you have to simply remove optifine. Optifine has tons of trouble loading with other mods and it always has.
