It is extremely hard to find trustworthy people like this, it is probably best if you ask people you already trust.
Well where else ask for a minecraft server expert then a Minecraft website dedicated to people playing Minecraft?
They are correct though, and their advice is sound. It's fine to use a great site like PMC here for this type of thing and it's what I must resort to as well for my server, but it IS wise to build a bit of trust up between you and the other person before you commit to giving them file access. Someone experienced should be able to help you via being OP on the server and communicating with you while you set things up in general first, without needing access <3 Just my opinion though.
