Hello, my name is Jay and I'm planning on running a minecraft faction server.
As of NOW I'm purchasing it this friday. I'm going to have to pay every 3 months.
But long story short I'm looking for ANY IDEAS!!
Current ideas given -
1) Custom Enchantments
2) Care Packages - rare items, OP items??, Enchants, Armor?
3) McMMO - if not so buggy when doing special ability
4) Player Bounties
These are the only ideas I've gotten from anyone.
I am really trying to figure out what ANY ideas you wonderful people have!!
I want to make this server to where 99% of our community is happy.
If we can come together and you guys leave comments of what you'd like to see, it'd be amazing!
How would I come up with ideas?
Well, think about one of your faction servers you play on, think about whats it's missing.
What would you like to change?
What should it have.
What shouldn't it have.
Any friends complain or wish they had something in it if you remember.
Once again, please do tell any ideas you have!
It doesn't only have to be ingame ideas, it could be donations, perks art?
We are in need of a banner and art for the server, so we are taking any ideas!

Honestly, in this era of servers, it's extremely competitive, especially when it comes to factions and minigames. My suggestion would be to come up with a server-type that's less populated, but still fun. Either that or come up with something completely unique.
That being said, if you still do want a Faction server, you are going to need hard-working, experienced developers (which by the way aren't usually free) and a very unique faction idea that sets you apart from the other hundreds-of-thousands of faction servers already in existence.
Those are a few pointers from me, a veteran server owner.

KoTHs, Custom builds (not downloaded), teamspeak, dedicated ip e.g. yourservernamehere.com, net etc. Staff what know what they are doing. And a dev what can code
What makes the best servers are servers that are different and unique. There are lots of factions servers out there don't just make another one that’s almost the same as every other. I would look for custom content.
