Hello Minecraft forum so i learned how to port foreword for a minecraft server BUT. I keep getting this in the server Console

"WARNING] **** FAILED TO BIND TO PORT! [WARNING] The exception was: java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address: JVM_Bind [WARNING] Perhaps a server is already running on that port?"

I tryed both ips with port forwarding The Default Gateway witch is the LAN Addresses because no one els can connect but me and then i tryed the public one witch comes up in google if you just type IP or the Subnet Mask one [Note:Im getting the ips from CMD line when yupe "ipconfig"]And when i did It says that FAILED TO BIND TO PORT Thing So im not understand why its not working and im not runing anything els on that port and that's the only thing i have port foreword and yes im useing the 25565 for port.SO if anyone can help me understand let me know ALSO note that there are 2 other computers that run in my house connected to my router i don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Did you check through your task manager and close out all programs that have like java*32 or similar things to that?

For some computers it can be CTRL+ALT+DEL

Using my method brings up the task manager immediately without you having to select an option.

For older computers this brings up the task manager directly (Windows XP)

if you have another server, then you might have to change your port to something different then the other server.

You didn't shut your server down correctly by using /stop

Restart your computer or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to kill all the java processes.

You are probably port-forwarding wrong as well, check my guide:

Change the port to 25566 to see if it fixes the problem. If you really want 25565 as the port, restart your computer and then try.

EDIT:Restart it anyways to see if it fixes it, the error means something is already running on that port, maybe you accidentally ran the server while the server was still running?

Have you configured it with your firewall as well? I know that can be an issue

If you haven't let the port go through the firewall, people won't be able to connect to your server. I know that I had this problem at first. Google turned out to be my friend
Anyways, what operating system do you have?

Yes you have to unblock the server. I know that when I did it, I had to go through McAfee because it takes over my windows firewall. Then when I moved the server to a different computer, it was running xp. I can try my best to help with walking you through it if needed
