I'm trying to fix the nether in my survival map, but when you enter the portal to go back to the overworld, a new portal is created many chunks away from the portal made.

Basically, when you obtain the obsidian from a chest, you build your portal and you go to a premade portal in the nether, spawning you on a floating platform surrounded by lava. However, you can't spawn back to the same portal you made. If you have played the SkyBlock survival maps, you can see that it's possible to be able to go back and forth without spawning to a new portal. How is this possible? I need to know please

I have never had this happen to me, but maybe you could try something me and my friends do on SMP to avoid other people coming out our portals.

Obtain the coordinates of where you want your overworld portal to be. Remember them.

Go to the nether via a random portal built away from your house. Remember the coordinates of this portal.

Calculate the position of where your overworld portal would connect with your nether portal. There is some equation for this. I think it is overworld coordinates divided by 8. Google it just to be sure. Place a portal at the coordinates you calculated. Do not leave through the portal you just made! Light it, and walk back to the portal you first entered the nether through.

Light your overworld portal. Proceed through the portal. You should come out the portal you made while in the nether. Proceed back through the portal and you should return though your overworld portal.

I hope this works for you.
