New member in need of help
so I'm new as a member on planetminecraft and need some feedback on an issue. I've been playing the game for a while with no issues until recently since the 1.6 update minecraft shuts down my pc. I'm not clued up when it comes to hardware or software so I'm not sure why these shutdowns are occurring. not only does it happen with minecraft but with steam and other games too. I've checked all I could possible check, pc temperature removed background apps etc. sometimes I can play for up to an hour and sometimes a few seconds, I've lost a lot of creations I could've uploaded, as each time these shut downs happen world saves get corrupted. these shut downs only started about 3 weeks ago and its driving me nuts. I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but hopefully some of you know what solutions there are. Thanks =)

I've already dusted it out and reinstalled etc. the pc is in full working condition. the only issues are with the games....I've checked online I did everything the other forums have told me to do and still the same issue....im just considering getting a new pc and throwing this pos in the dump....this pc always has a new issue that arises anyway....
I honestly have no experience with PCs but from what you've told us it may be your video card over-heating or just generally something going wrong in that area.
You might want to open up your PC (maybe with a parent) and just have a general clean out of dust and grime and whatnot and see if maybe your video card is out of place.
Have you done any look-up on the internet? Most people here don't often work with PCs and hardware. One of the hardware forums may be able to help you more than PMC.

so I did everything I could and minecraft still shuts off....borderlands 2 only got to the default character screen and the pc shut off....this pc is only a year old I don't know what the frack is wrong with it....=(

It sounds like your graphics card is crashing, have you tried updating your drivers?

The run menu will pop up, type in "dxdiag" without quotes and press enter
Thats the DirectX diagnostic tool it collects basic information about your system, click Save All Information, it will then begin to gather your system details and whne its done tell you where to save it as a txt file, post that file here(in a spoiler pls cause it might be huge and spam the thread ).

Thats the DirectX diagnostic tool it collects basic information about your system, click Save All Information, it will then begin to gather your system details and whne its done tell you where to save it as a txt file, post that file here(in a spoiler pls cause it might be huge and spam the thread ).

Reinstalling an OS is a pain in the butt.
